BACK BRACE - Much Cheaper Than From Your Orthoist (sic)
"You are bidding on an LO470 TLSO Triplanar Subclav, Prefab back brace.
I fractured 2 discs in my lower back on May 16, and was told to wear a
back brace for 3 months. (Compression fractures of my T12 and L1
vertebraes (sic). I wore it one month before my anxiety to be active took
over. I'm a golfer and live in Arizona so it was extra hard to make
myself wear it for the suggested 3 months. It definitely helped me
keep my posture and didn't allow me to move in any irregular ways. It
is very easy to wear in that you simply connect a strap that goes
behind you to connect on the right side of the brace (near the hips),
with a pad on that strap for your back. One size fits all (really), as
the strap is adjustable. It is to be worn on the outside of your
clothes, as you can see in one of the pictures I've attached, but if
that's embarrassing or uncomfortable for you, you could wear it under
your shirt as well. In the month that I wore the brace I went
everywhere and did most anything I pleased, in respect to going out in
public places. The frame is made of titanium, so the brace is very
light. The pads are white and are padded very sufficiently - made of
plastic, so they do not stain.
If
you are concerned about the brace fitting you, I've learned that all
Orthoists (sic) will allow you to walk into their offices unannounced for
them to adjust the brace for you.
Editors note: I completely disagree with the above statement (well, I completely disagree with this entire posting but I'm sure EBay and the guy selling the orthosis don't really care.)
I am 5'11" and weigh 185 lbs, so it
is adjusted for that body size currently.
There is no need for
you to spend $700 or more dollars on a back brace if you can get this
for a few hundred cheaper. I will assure you that this is a heavy duty
and dependable brace, after minimal use by just me.
The reason I've
decided to get rid of the back brace is for a few different reasons.
Not only did I end up not needing the back brace for more than 1 month,
I learned that my insurance was not going to cover the cost of the
brace until I met my deductible, which is not even close to being met
right now. I just found out by getting my bill that the brace is
valued at $960 and my bill is $800. This is not a bill I can afford
after having just moved into a new house. You will not be
disappointed with this brace and your doctor won't either. If you have
any questions, ask your doctor about this or even have him contact me.
This is a well-cared for piece of orthotic (??) and I attest that you will
feel the same.
I will accept any and all offers, answer any questions that you may have, and I will NOT set a reserve price for this auction.
There is no fee for shipping and I will pay all insurance fees to get the brace to you in an expedient manner.
Thank you for your bids and feel free to ask me ANY questions that you may have."
